My very first solo exhibition, The Tiniest Spark is an extensive collection of small mixed media original artworks, and 12 new prints, which explore and reveal my creative process. Each piece begins with a little bolt of inspiration and grows from there, with watercolour, stitching and fabric layered (and sometimes removed) until the piece is complete. I had been struggling to articulate the process of an idea forming, until I noticed it captured perfectly in the lyric in Bjork’s song Isobel: ‘in a forest pitch dark, glowed tiniest spark, it burst into a flame….’
